BEEN Country x Color Me Country at the NMAAM
— (CDT, UTC-05) — (CDT, UTC-05)
National Museum of African American Music, 510 Broadway, Nashville, TN 37203, Nashville, TN
NMAAM returns to CMA Weekend with the second edition of BEEN Country, a celebration of the deep and enduring contributions of Black artists to country music. While the story of Black artists in country music runs deep, it’s still being written.
Headlined by Rissi Palmer as Black Music Month’s Mission Marshall — founder of Color Me Country Radio and the Color Me Country Artist Fund — BEEN Country brings one of the most compelling voices in that conversation to the stage of the National Museum of African American Music for an intimate moderated dialogue. Following the conversation, Julie Williams, Michael B. Whit, Denitia, Pynk Beard, and Rissi Palmer take the main stage for a live performance concert that reminds the world where country music has always been rooted.
