"Rissi Palmer's new mini-album, The Back Porch Sessions, is an easy-on-the-ears set that is both beautifully sung and hard to categorize." -David Menconi
Thank you so much to the News and Observer's review and for making my show tomorrow night (Friday, July 10) a "Rock Pick". You can read the full review HERE and If you're interested in coming, here's the vital info:

"Palmer is living in Raleigh, North Carolina, with her husband and their daughter and making trips back to Nashville to develop her new music — with its neo-soul-to-throwback-southern-R&B sound and down-home, confessional point-of-view — when and how she wants to. "It's a different vibe," she explains, sitting at a picnic table on the porch behind the 5 Spot. "The country's still there, because that's still a part of me. But this project is definitely more intentionally soul." - Jewly Hight
Thank you so much Jewly and Rolling Stone Country for this awesome article. You can check it out HERE.
If you missed it live last week, I had a wonderful interview with Charlie Mattos on WSM Radio in Nashville. You can check out the podcast of the interview and my live performance of "Summerville" from my new EP, The Back Porch Sessions HERE!
I have been looking forward to this show for a while now and getting this rave review has amped me up even more!!! "Singer-songwriter Rissi Palmer may be seen by some as an anomaly, an artist whose music is an interesting mixture of soul and country. But as we’ve written about before, the two genres have much more in common than some folks think. Storytelling and a keen sense of melody spell the best of both genres, and Rissi has plenty of both in her music."
Thank you so much to SoulTracks.com for their review of "Sweet Sweet Lovin'". Check it out HERE.
Here's a throwback performance from the studio in August 2014, when Shannon Sanders, Drew Ramsey, and I were writing and recording songs for The Back Porch Sessions. We had just written "Anything But Yours" and decided to get it on tape. Hope you enjoy!!!
