Dawn Landes and friends perform The Liberated Woman’s Songbook. This show features a full band lead by Dawn with guest singers Alice Gerrard, Emily Frantz (from Watchhouse/Mandolin Orange), Rissi Palmer, Charly Lowry, Kamara Thomas and Lizzy Ross (from Violet Bell).

Inspired by a book of the same name that was originally published in 1971 at the height of The Women’s Liberation Movement, the concert will feature folk songs dating back to the 1800’s that speak to the same themes we find ourselves battling today – women’s timeless struggle with lovers, the devil, the system, and themselves. With updated language, fresh musical arrangements, photos and stories behind the songs, Dawn and guest singers and band put a modern spin on songs that inspired change.
