In 2021 UK Americana artist Lady Nade was invited by the BBC World Service to explore the roots of Country and Americana music and its debt to black music and to reflect on her own place in a genre that is only now starting to confront its history. A year on from the BBC documentary, Lady Nade will meet with some of the documentary contributors to discuss the impact of the BLM movement and the industry’s awakening to the issues of diversity within Americana and the roots music genres.
